Getting started

WIP (A Walk in the Park) is a non-profit wellness association in Maspalomas, Gran Canaria. We offer free yoga every Sunday in Parque del Sur, indoor classes at the WIP Meditation Center (Easy Yoga, Himalayan Yoga, Sound Bath, Mindfulness), monthly silent retreats, and an annual festival. Just check the calendar and come — everyone is welcome.

No registration is required for the Sunday park session. For indoor classes at the Center, we recommend reserving a seat through the WIP Care app — capacity is limited and reservations help us plan.

Instructors guide in both Spanish and English, often switching mid-class. The body knows the practice even when language doesn't. Bilingual instructions are the WIP norm.

Absolutely. WIP is designed for everyone — beginners, seniors, kids, parents, athletes. Instructors adapt every session to whoever is in the room. You can come with zero experience and leave with a practice.

Yes. Children are welcome at Sunday park sessions, and Family Yoga groups are forming at the Center. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times.

Yes, with a few precautions. Please speak to the instructor before class so they can adapt the practice for you. Sound Bath, Mindfulness, and Easy Yoga are all generally safe during pregnancy. Consult your doctor first if you have any specific medical concerns.

WIP runs sessions all year round, with one exception — we typically pause in August because of the heat. Outside of that, we're here every Sunday and most weekdays at the Center.

Yes. Selected sessions are livestreamed and recorded through the WIP Care app, so you can join from anywhere. Sound baths and the major festival sessions are typically streamed.

The II International Yoga & Mindfulness Festival Maspalomas 2027 is being prepared right now. It expands to three full days (Friday to Sunday) in April 2027. Dates are being finalised with the Ayuntamiento de San Bartolomé de Tirajana. Follow @wip.care on Instagram for the announcement.

The first edition took place on April 26, 2026 at the Amphitheatre of Parque del Sur. Exactly 1,008 practitioners gathered for five hours of guided practice — two traditions on one stage, the Siddha lineage of Mahant Ramanatha and the modern mindfulness of Javier Villaescusa, with live sacred music and three OMs at the close.

Yes — there are three ways to be part of the 2027 edition: as a Volunteer (logistics, hospitality, kitchen), as a Sponsor (brand partnership), or as a Collaborator (teach a workshop, host a circle, co-create a stage). Apply through our Contact form.

The Solidarity Kitchen is WIP's catering project — high-quality vegan and satvic / Ayurvedic catering for festivals, retreats, weddings, corporate events and gala dinners. 100% of profits go towards feeding homeless people and those living in vulnerability.
